London: Charles Tilt, 1836. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Handsomely rebound prior to 1912 in half leather on marbled paper. Title page and any other prelims discarded during this process and thus volume begins with the Epistle Dedicatory. Thereafter all continues in good order, with decorative engraved borders to all pages and numerous plates. Stock toned and occasional spotting, but a nice copy. This is a charity sale on behalf of Friends Of Morston Church (reg.1099831). 12mo. x + 192pp + plates

In the publishers brown embossed cloth, corners bumped & worn. Spine, relaid, retaining old, gilt tooling & title, a couple of marks. Internally, half title & title page each with illustration, [1], [3], (iv-x), [1], 2-199 pp, 31 pls, published again in 1845 & 7, each page has woodcut borders, yellow endpapers, tape repair to hinges, tear to 1 pl, t.e.g,. First edition but later issue, with Tilt in place of Bohn. (16 mo, 116*172 mm). (Westwood & Satchell p93. Sage p91). Chatto's other humorous publications included A Paper: of Tobacco (1839) under the pseudonym Joseph Fume with illustrations by H. K. Gilt ruling and lettering, as well as five trout (?) vignettes in spine compartments. All edges are gilded. The binder has beautifully used the original covers with elaborate gilt designs, as the front paste downs. There is a little separation of the front free end page from the following fly leaf. Occasional light foxing and offsetting. Volume remains tight and very attractive. . First Edition. Full Leather. Very Good/No Dust Jacket.

Hardcover, embossed cloth boards with dust jacket. Single volume, 334pp. Overall, the book is in very good condition, however the dust jacket is in good condition. The dust jacket is intact and colors bright, but showing wear with some tears. It is encased in a removable mylar cover. The book has slight damage to the lower edge of spine.
