Description:
No place: No publisher, 1914. Unbound. Fine. A 1901 Frederic Remington illustration of a cowboy with the title and author printed at the top. Poster board, matted and framed behind glass. Matted to approximately 15" x 19". We have not examined the poster out of the frame, but the visible part of the image is about fine, with a tiny tear on the top, and a thin strip of very light tanning along the bottom, and with no other evidence of further damage behind the mat. The first edition of the book was published in 1914, which seems consistent with the age of the poster, although it might have been prepared for a contemporary reprint. Nice, large Remington image.

Cornwall, Connecticut: Mercury Press, Inc. August 1980. Digest-size Magazine. First Edition. Fine. No Mailing label. In protective cover.
Thomas M. Disch's hugely popular children's novel The Brave Little Toaster first appeared in print in the August 1980 issue of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction with cover art by Gahan Wilson six years before it was published in book form. It won the 1980 British Science Fiction Association Award for Best Short Fiction, the 1981 Locus Poll Award for Best Novelette, and the 1982 Seiun Award for Best Translated Short Story. It was also nominated for the Hugo, Nebula, and Balrog Awards and inspired an additional book and three children's movies. Disch published The Brave Little Toaster in an adult science fiction magazine after it was rejected by children's book publishers who thought the notion of appliances talking and having characters was just too far-fetched and children would not accept it. Even after Disney bought the story rights and had the movie in… Read More

Description:
Here is the notorious original 1927 pamphlet that set the Pacific Northwest literary establishment on its ear. Status Rerum. A Manifesto, Upon The Present Condition Of Northwestern Literature, Containing Several Near-Libelous Utterances Upon Persons In The Public Eye. By James Stevens of Washington, H.L. Davis of Oregon. Privately Printed For The Craft. The Dalles, Ore. Small octavo. 8 pages with cover. Limited to 200 numbered copies privately printed in 1927. This is #73.
Only ten copies in libraries, according to WorldCat databases. When published, the pamphlet was sent to newspapers and magazines across the Pacific Northwest and probably a few select places in California and the East Coast; most were likely tossed into the proverbial round file. It has since taken its place in Pacific Northwest history, being reprinted in the six-volume Oregon Literature Series anthologies done by Oregon State University Press in the 1990s, and still considered controversial today. Most interested parties will… Read More
