1964. MOORE, Marianne. THE ARCTIC OX. London: Faber and Faber, (1964). First edition. Inscribed presentation copy, written in ink on the ffep.: "For Rosie and exciting Eugenia | Miss Sheppard -- | from Bernard Waldreau | and let me say Marianne Moore | December 22, 1964. In addition, Miss Moore has made a correction on p. 52, in the penultimate line, where she has crossed out the printed name "Moss" and written below it "Noss." 52 pp. Slim 8vo., light blue cloth, lettered in gilt at spine. This is a very fine copy of an uncommon title. It has a near fine dust jacket, which is lightly sunned at the spine, with a short closed tear at the heel, and light soil to lower panel, but maintains a bright apperance. (Abbott A23).

Black Sparrow First Printing with color title page. No writing or markings internally. Covers are faded with browning at edges, spine is noticeably faded and browned as well. No tears but page edges are a little dirty at top but it doesn't intrude on the page.

San Francisco: Shirt Pocket Editions, 2006. 1st edition. Soft cover. Fine/No Jacket (as issued). Near Fine. 32mo, 25 leaves (printed one-side on card stock), comb binding. INSCRIBED to the painter Jack Freeman by the author on the first interior page. One of an unknown but presumably microscopic number of copies of the self-published first edition of this pocket-sized poetic collection by a key figure in San Francisco's North Beach from the Beat era until his death a few years after this was issued. Just about as new (minor marks on cover appear to be printing artifact).

Softcover. A collection of 6 signed softcover poetry books by Stephen Berg (or edited). Many rare to uncommon on the market in particular signed. All came from the Library of noted bibliophile and Updike collector Albert J Raman from Philadelphia. All are signed and 4 have an inscription made out to Albert. Crow with no Mouth, 1989 Copper Canyon. The unusually rare 1989 softcover edition, even more so signed (I could not find any other signed copies available at time of posting). Signed on title page with his name signed twice, For Albert - Steve. A fine copy. An eccentric classic of Zen poetry. When Zen master Ikkyu Sojun (1394-1481) was appointed headmaster of the great temple at Kyoto, he lasted nine days before denouncing the rampant hypocrisy he saw among the monks there. He in turn invited them to look for him in the sake parlors of the Pleasure Quarters. New York: Viking Press, 1967. Hard Cover. Very Good+/Very Good+. Stated second printing February 1967 (1 of 3000 copies) and is considered one of her finest works. This is personalized by two things: an inscription and a correction. She wrote "To my Dragoman from Sonoma / Affectionately Marianne. / December 26, 1967" and also drew a line through "To" on pg. 54 so as to read (only) "Dr. Henry W. Noss". Original gray marbled paper and turquoise cloth with bright silver stamped lettering to spine, blindstamped "M M" initials to cover. Brilliant blue and black dust jacket with photo of Brooklyn Bridge designed by M.B. Glick. 9 x 6". 57 pp. Tiny chipping to top and bottom with some foxing to inner and top of dustjacket, slight foxing to top text block, rub to bottom spine, else Very Good or better copy in like dustjacket-all in all, a bright signed copy.

Carolyn Shattuck is interested in endangered species and bringing their plight to the forefront. The book "Wings" is acknowledging the endangerment of the Monarch butterfly. The colorful display of the Monarch is accompanied with a poem by Emily Dickinson "The Butterfly's Day".

The scarce tenth issue of this essential postwar literary magazine, includes an interview with James Thurber. Unmarked copy (except for small erased letter to cover), light outer wear, typical toning of paper stock.

No Place: No Publisher 31, [3] pages (the last 3 pages blank) ; 24 cm [Place of publication not identified] : [publisher not identified], No date, circa 1920s. Contains three classics of "outhouse" humor. Bound in quarter red morocco over pale green buckram, gilt back, marbled end papers, top edge gilt, authors and titles in gilt front cover, Near Fine, the buckram with sun spotting. "Backhouse" has been attributed to Riley, but not by his bibliographers. SCARCE, OCLC locates only 3 copies. OCLC: 9379973.. Later Printings. Quarter Morocco. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued.
